In 2 days you will ride on Komani Lake, visit Bajram Curri, explore Valbona Valley, and visit the town of Prizren in Kosovo.
This tour is an easy walk and drive, with many visits to natural and historical, making it suitable for everyone. The weather most of the time is very nice and comfortable, only during July and August you should bring your hat, sunscreen, and water. During the winter season, you need to be dressed for cold temperatures. Transportation is made with the airconditioned comfortable vehicle. A certified tour guide will be with you all the time.
Our day will start very early at 7 am, since we will need to drive 3 hours to board the ferry, sailing us through Komani lake. Our drive will pass by Vau Dejes Lake through untouched landscapes until we reach the Komani dam and take the ferry. Komani Lake is a reservoir on the Drini River formed after the construction of the Komani hydropower dam, during the early 70s. It is considered to be of the most beautiful lakes in Europe, compared with Norwegian fiords. Sailing goes through blue waters, very remote villages, and virgin forests. For some of the villages sailing through this lake is the only way to go their home and in winter they are isolated for several months.
We will sail at about 2 hours and 30 min and will take the car to go to the small town of Bajram Curri. A short visit will give us an idea about the local’s life in this town between the Alps. We will get in the car again and will drive towards the Valbona valley. We will pass by the Valbona River, one of the most beautiful in Albania, well known for clear and ice-cold water, rapid flow. We will stop to enjoy the beauty of Shoshani canyon.
Once in Valbona we will get accommodated on guest houses and will have a very healthy traditional lunch. After a rest of two hours, we will go hiking around the valley. Depending on how much the group would like to hike we can go up to the Rrogami waterfall.
Overnight in Valbona Valley in a local Guesthouse
We encourage everyone to get up early in the morning to enjoy the majestic nature on Valbona valley, between mountains peaks of over 2000m high. A filling breakfast will be served outside, with very traditional and local products. Immediately after we will leave our guest house and will go hiking around the valley, old mill, and villages around the valley.
At about 2 pm will get in the car towards Kosovo and will visit the town of Prizren, known for its ottoman style. We will spend about 2 hours strolling the town, fortress and other points of interest. We will head back to Tirana in the afternoon.

Tripadvisor review: Was such a beautiful trip and was lovely exploring the area. Had lots of time to walk and enjoy the views. Lots of driving but always something to look at. Wish there was a bit more walking and exploring involved, as well as more meals included, however lots of opportunities to buy from shops and restaurants. Seemed slightly overpriced but was still very enjoyable. Our guide Ana was helpful and knowledgeable and gave us the right amount of space to enjoy our own and was very generous and kind, always making sure we were going well. Would definitely book again, but maybe for a shorter trip as afore mentioned price.
