Expect breathtaking landscapes, from mountain passes to river valleys, but even more powerful are the encounters with the people of Labëria. You’ll be welcomed into village homes, taste traditional dishes prepared with local pride, and witness the centuries-old art of Albanian toasting—where every glass of raki carries a story.

Along the way, you’ll experience music, hospitality, and rituals that have been preserved through generations. This is a tour for travelers who seek not just sights, but connection, authenticity, and culture served at the table.

Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Albania

Upon your arrival at Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza, our staff will be there
to greet & welcome you. In the afternoon, we will hold a brief meeting to go over the
itinerary, followed by a walking tour of Tirana’s main sites.
Welcoming Dinner will be served at a traditional restaurant in Tirana.

Day 2Tepelena and Nivica Canyon

Our journey begins with a transfer to Tepelena, our first stop. Here, we will delve into
the rich history of the area, the legendary Ali Pasha Tepelena, and the enduring legacy
he left behind. A visit to the Museum of Tepelena will provide insight into the area’s
communist past, marked by struggle and resilience.
The region is renowned for its rugged landscapes of breathtaking beauty and a wealth
of natural attractions. We will marvel at the Aqueduct of Benca, an 18th-century marvel
built by Ali Pasha, showcasing his vision and architectural prowess.
Following the path of Progonat Stream, we will uncover the hidden gem of Peshtura
Waterfall, a stunning example of nature’s unique artistry.
In the late afternoon, we will settle into Guesthouse Over the Canyon, offering a
spectacular view of the Nivica Canyon right before our eyes. This serene location
provides the perfect ambiance for relaxation and reflection after a long day.

Day 3Nivica to Hader Xhebro Guesthouse

We’ll start the day with a relaxed morning to explore the charming Nivica village and
capture final photos of the breathtaking Nivica Canyon. Afterward, we’ll set off on a
hike to Hader Xhebro Guesthouse in Rexhin Village, immersing ourselves in the natural
beauty of the Kurveleshi area.
Our route winds through remote and untouched landscapes, offering a glimpse into the
region’s authenticity. The region is known for its livestock farming, producing some of
the tastiest dairy products. Along the trail, we’ll come across herds of sheep, goats, and
cattle, accompanied by their protective shepherd dogs. We’ll also see horses and mules,
still used by locals for their daily work, marking the path with signs of traditional life.
By afternoon, we’ll reach Hader Xhebro Guesthouse, where we’ll experience true
Albanian hospitality. Surrounded by a warm family atmosphere, we’ll enjoy delicious
homemade food and partake in the local drinking table traditions of this particular area.

Day 4 Hiking Pass to Bashaj Village Guesthouse

Our journey today takes us from Hader Xhebro Guesthouse to Bashaj Village, hiking
through remote terrain surrounded by towering peaks over 2,000 meters high. This solitary hike offers tranquility, with only the vast sky as our companion. Along the way,
we’ll pass the abandoned village of Vermik, once home to 370 families and renowned
for its unique grape variety and abundant fruit orchards.
Once in Bashaj, we’ll settle into our guesthouse before heading down to the river for a
refreshing bath or simply soaking in the peaceful village life.
At dinner, our host will share his traditional table rules for drinking raki.

Day 5Hiking to Vajzë Village

Our hiking adventure continues through the Vlora River Valley, as we trek from Bashaj
to Vajze Village. Along the way, we’ll pass through several remote villages, where the
locals rely entirely on agriculture and cattle farming. The area boasts a rugged beauty,
with landscapes that shift dramatically, featuring caves and other natural wonders.
We’ll also enjoy a short walk to the Rasal Waterfall, a stunning rocky cavity where water
cascades down like a waterfall.
Upon reaching Vajzë, we’ll rest at our guesthouses, preparing for tomorrow’s hike to
Tartar Mountain.

Day 6 Mountain Tartar Peak and Amantia Archaeological Park

Mount Tartar, also known as The Crown Mountain, is a sacred site for locals of the
Bektashi religion. At its peak of 1,907 meters, you’ll find a Tekke, a place of pilgrimage
where people visit seeking healing from various ailments. Many miracles are said to
have occurred due to the positive energy of this special place.
Early in the morning, we’ll gather at the trailhead and embark on a 4-hour hike to
the summit. The panoramic views along the way are absolutely stunning, offering
breathtaking vistas until we reach the top.
On the way back, we will visit the Amantia Archaeological Park, the site of an ancient
Illyrian city that thrived for 10 centuries. The artifacts found here are amazing, offering
a glimpse into the rich culture and history of the local population.
After a long day, we will be transferred by car to Tërbaç. In the evening we’ll learn about
the village’s rich history and its table rules for toasting. As we have said every village
has its traditions and customs.

Day 7 Great Pass Tërbaç – Dukat

Today we have another great hiking day passing from Tërbaç to Dukat Village. This
path is known for its wild, mountainous terrain, with breathtaking views of the
surrounding peaks and valleys. The trail has been used historically by locals for trade
and communication.
While the area offers untouched landscapes, with dense forests, steep cliffs, and
panoramic views of the Ionian Seas, it’s also rich in biodiversity with a variety of native
plants and animal life. Once in Dukat, we will settle in our guesthouse to rest and prepare
for the farewell dinner.
The farewell celebration will take place at Panorama Restaurant where a local group
of singers will perform traditional polyphonic songs, while we put into practice the
toasting skills that we’ve learned throughout the week, making it a memorable and
festive evening.

Day 8End of Journey

Our journey comes to a close today. Our staff will be there to ensure a smooth transfer to
Tirana International Airport, wishing you a safe flight back home. The drop-off time is
set for 14:00, with options for either the airport or Tirana city center for those wishing
to continue exploring.
