Vlora city is much more than astonishing beaches, sea and sun! Today you will visit the other side of Vlora like the Narta Lagoon, Narta Dunes, Saltworks, Pine Forest, and Kallenga Lagoon. Depending on your time of visit, you will have a chance to watch sea and terrestrial birds like elegant flamingos, pelicans, redshanks, etc. This tour will end with a visit at Kallenga Lagoon where we will visit the communism time bunkers, nowadays turned into landscape protection symbols.

What to Expect

You will get up early as birds and we will pick you at your hotel at 6:30 am. The today’s trip is going to be a short ride, about 30 min to Narta Lagoon and than you will wonder for few hours watching birds and landscapes. You will move from the lagoon, to saltworks, dunes, pine forest and Kallenga Lagoon. Some of the transfer are nice walks and some short drives. We will provide a pair of binoculars and you are free to bring your own instruments. We recommend you to have comfortable hiking shoes and clothes, water, sun glasses and sun screen. The whole experience last about 7-8 hours.

Birdwatching in Narta Lagoon from Vlora

Vlora city is much more than astonishing beaches, sun, and sea!

Narta Lagoon and Saltworks are known for their vast diversity of flora and fauna. Birdwatching will be our focus today with much to offer also on amazing natural landscapes.

The day will start at 6:30, as a real early bird. We will pick you up at your hotel and drive shortly Narta Salinas where we will have short stops in different watching locations. Our day will continue with Pine Forest, Narta Dunes, and Kallenga Lagoon. Depending on the time of year we will have the possibility to watch some characteristic species like Redshanks, Flamingo, Pelican, etc.

Another attraction of this tour is the historical bunkers of communist times, with protected landscape symbols.

This tour will end right at lunchtime and our guide will suggest you fish restaurants in the area
