Next to the Mosque, we continue our visit with the Clock Tower of Tirana, built in the XIX century between 1822-1840, a 1st category culture monument. Its 90-degree spiral is 35 meters high and until 1970 has been the capital’s highest building. Then we will explain Scanderbeg Square and the historical buildings surrounding it.
We continue our visit passing by Bunk Art 1, an underground bunker showing communism atrocities, Tirana Castle complex, where we can see the building where our prince lives, and then to the main boulevard with its building of diverse architecture, as per the time they were constructed. The Pyramid of Tirana will marvel at everyone with its transformation from the Dictator’s Museum to the most innovative Youth Center. On our visit, we cross the Blok area and the dictator Hoxha’s villa and you can judge by yourself what this area means for Tirana today.
Just after 2 hours, we will get to our local winery to taste some local wines together with the explanations of our local specialists. In the last 30 years, Albania has experienced a boom in wine production and cultivation and protection of local grape varieties. Our wines are still young and have a lot to learn in the making process, but they carry a lot of audacity and eagerness to compete in the world.
